Weingut Knipser, a flagship estate of German viticulture, was founded in 1876 by the Knipser family, originally from South Tyrol Italy. The estate’s 40 hectares is located in Laumersheim, in the northern part of the Pfalz, where beautiful clay and limestone soils are perfectly suited to the culture of Pinot Noir.  With the unique terroirs of Burgweg, Mandelpfad and Kirschgarten, the estate's red wines have been internationally renowned. The complex geology of the region also allows the development of excellent Rieslings, especially at Steinbuckel and Mandelpfad. Cultivated grapes also include Pinot blanc, Pinot gris and chardonnay. Thanks to the enviable reputation enjoyed by its wines, the estate joined the VDP in 1993. With his unique terroirs and finely managed oak aging, Weingut Knipser is now one of the Pfalz's reliable values and one of the Pinot noir references in Germany.
