Our grandfather Martinho, a farmer from Mogofores, produced red wine and, being one of the few winemakers who separated white grapes from red grapes, he made a very beautiful and famous white wine. Both were sold in bulk to area trading houses who bottled it. Died at the end of the sixties of the last century, our father, Manuel, then took over the whole operation and modernized and enlarged the vineyard, however no longer producing market wine. In the mid-1990s, we began winemaking trials with the different grape varieties planted in the meantime (many of which were for the first time in the region). The decision was then made to start making wine for the market and to build a new cellar. Campolargo's first wines came from the 2000 harvest and the new winery was not built until 2004. Currently, the third generation is in charge of the vineyard, Jorge Campolargo and of the winery and sales, Carlos Campolargo. But it already has the collaboration of the fourth generation, Joana Campolargo, who provides administrative support and external relations. We therefore wish to maintain and perpetuate the exclusively family character of our vinification.
