Located in the municipality of Mesão Frio (Baixo Corgo), with a privileged view of the Douro River and excellent sun exposure, Quinta da Barca produces wines of excellence in the Douro Demarcated Region. In 1995 the history of this Quinta was modernized. Alcino Teixeira and Maria Helena Alves acquire this property and a new era begins. The entire vineyard was restructured and in 2005 the first harvest was made for the first wine to be presented in 2007: Busto Reserva Rouge 2005. Since then, the brand has developed, with whites and rosés then being presented. In 2016, Justina Teixeira (daughter of the owners) joined and took over the management of this project. The year in which a new creation was also born from this house, which marked a trend in the sparkling wines of the Douro: Pontas Soltas.
