Christophe Ferrandis was born in Marseille. In 2001, he moved to Corsica and bought the 4 hectares of Clos Signadore, in Patrimonio. From the beginning, he chose to put the emphasis on quality and crafted dense and structured wines from his old nielluccio vines. Today, the vineyard estate comprises 9 hectares which have been certified organic since 2013. The style of Christophe's wines has evolved towards more finesse with silkier tannins. "I now like to infuse rather than extract" he says. The portfolio has two different ranges. Wines from the A Mandria range include a white, a red and a rosé, all from Patrimonio AOC. These energetic wines, well camped in their soil, have a great drinkability attributable to a saline, almost briny character. The top tier comes in red and white under the brand Clos Signadore. A meridional and complex white wine as well as a dense and silky red. Two great wines, both made from the estate’s old vines. Christophe also works on a new project, Inizia, on the east coast, just south of Bastia, where he grows old Corsican grapes, seeking for freshness but also for a lushious profile. A very exciting project for this winemaker.
